ASIAN CULTURE TOUR

The culture of Asian civilization is always attractive to me. There are two very interesting museum in Singapore which is about Asian civilization and culture. One is the “port cities: Multicultural emporiums of Asia” in Asian Civilization museum, another one is “Nyonya Needlework” located in the Peranakan World.

There are lots of exquisite piece from these museum, including beads work, tapestry work, embroidery and so on.

It is so amazing how they can create these exquisite pieces at that time. The color combination and the pattern are still very contemporary. The thread and the beads are so refine that I can not believe it's from the time. It remind me the style of the couture brand Dolce & Gabbana a lot.

The Nyony community also some interesting story and habitude which are infected by multi culture.

One of the interesting habitude is that they the place the door god image on the entrance of the home in order to keep the evil spirit away. This habitude was originate from the Tang Dynasty in China.

Back that time people are also very fetishistic，Peranakan Chinese religion came from everywhere. They incorporates many beliefs and folks from different places. The same thing was also reflected in their clothing, food or even daily life habit.
