The original design looks like this.

However, the skirt’s shape didn’t looks well. First, it is very hard to sew a zipper on pleated fabric. The outer denim is very heavy and bulging. Moreover, the proportion of the denim and pleat is not looking good.

Therefore， I decided to change the whole design of the skirt.

For the new design, I adjusted the pleats and denim’s proportion, making the pleats smaller. I’m also doing denim knife pleats. In this way, it will blend with the print pleats better.

However, I’m still keeping the style line of the denim panel so that it can match my other designs.

The new design came out better. However, the skirt length still needs to adjust because it is too long. The shape of the jacket is quite nice. However, the waistband should be longer so that it covers the placket. The back of the jacket is too loose. I’m adding two three cm pleats to give more shape.

I'm also draping the inner corset using Janpanese origami folding insteand of the usual couturing methods.

For the actual garment, I'm planning to do double layer considering of my fabric has right and wrong side.
