Look3 Actual

The shape of skirt came out really nice. Adding more godets did give the skirt more movement and volume. The color and fabric also works wells together. I also decide to make the waist band as a whole piece so that it creates an illusion of two pieces garment.

However, the front hanging piece is not look good. The top stitch is too obvious on black shinning fabric. Besides this, it’s not lying flat because of the volume of skirt. I decided to chop it shorter so it became a decorative panel only for bodice.

I'm also taking off the elastic band design on shoulder, because the factory has a maximum lenghth manifacturing for elastic and that is too short for my original design.

For the finishing of hem, I’m leaving a rough hem and let the fabric fray by using brush. Rough hem for denim is widely seen in street style. It gives the look more casual feeling and it adds an organic vibe that matches with my weaving panel in look 2.
