We are invited by Paragon Singapare to design and create an accessory for the small cow that design by our
product design student as well as a garment that inspired by Singapore and Switzerland.
It will be showcase on the 50 years of bilateral ties between Switzerland and Singapore event booth.
For our garment, the main colors of this design are red and white. The red and white reversible cape with its traditional mandarin collar and tassels personify Singapore while the dress is inspired by the milkmaid look of Switzerland. We are using a linen fabric to bring more natural vibe. It also come with a white lasing corset.
For the cow decorate design, the inspiration came from the maps of Singapore and Switzerland. We are using shapes of maps from both countries to laser cut the base acrylic plate. After that we are adding more decorative detials like the national flowers from these two countries to the plate.

After I put the cape toile on people’s shoulder, the shape tend to be not nice and I reshape it on the body, making it more fitted. After we attached the net with linen dress, it looks much better than the original design which was using printed red polka-dot white chiffon. Net provide a more soft and sheer texture compare to white chiffon. The shape came out just like the illustration. However, I wish there is more flare and volume for the linen skirt and sleeve. Besides this the length of the dress is too short for models, the dress should be at least 86cm.

The making of the tassels
We decided to showcase the red side of the cape due to the fact that the white side stains
easily and it did not match the overall ensemble.

For making of the cow, we laser cut out the shape on acrylic material. In order to make the acrylic mode to bend and fit the shape for the cow we heat the mode up by using a blower. After that we found out the acrylic board is not big enough for the cow and it’s too naked. To solve this problem we decide to cut out two layers to emphasize the map shape, one PU leather layer and one felt layer. The reason why we use this fabric is because it doesn’t require any edge finishing.
