HK trip - Woolmark

Woolmark h is a worldwide authority company that promotes Australian wool. They believe that wool textile is the eventual natural material and leading choice for luxury clothing. Fortunately we have an opportunity to visit the new wool resource center during our HK trip. We first took apart in their appreciation course which gave me a deeper understanding and discovers the versatility of wool content fabric. Wool is a fiber that produced by the natural blend of fresh air, sunshine, grass and water. It was mainly produced in Australian that delivers the best wool fiber in the world.

I was really surprise that wool textile can be used to make not only winter wear like wool coat and suiting that we normally seen, but also summer and sporty wear. The fabric is breathable and can reduce the sweaty smells. Wool fiber is also very durable and was made to denim and shoe’s textile.

After the appreciation course, we got access to The Wool Lab which is an innovative

cyclical fashion trending forecast guidebook. It is created twice a year to inspire textile industry, fashion designers and merchants about the trending of wool textile. What is good is that they have the real sample and all of them are commercially available so you can order directly.

The new edition which is Autumn/Winter 2018/19 was just published a few weeks ago. They have 7 different theme and 2 additional books called The Wool Lab Sport and The Wool Lab Denim which showcase latest innovations and technical wool material.

My favorite book is called Monochrome which inspired me a lot on my color story for my major project. This theme is all about femininity. The main schemes are pastels, grey and olive green. I monochromatic layering found it very soft, simple but elegant.
