I have to add another seam line into my dress due to the fact that my width is only 119cm. I try to make the join seam into the pleats so that it’s not very obvious.

The entire pattern piece should go the same direction because the dress may not shine the same way. It used 4.8 meters fabric.

I started to sew the skirt part first. After I sew the pleats, I join the panel and side seam.

And it looks like this.

The bustier need to fuse a hard interfacing first, the seam allowance I leave is 1.5cm. First, I sew a 1.5cm seam and slash the curve part. After than I sew a 1cm line and insert the 0.8 cm boning. The bra cup was hand stitch to the seam allowance.

This is how it looks like without the draping part but I cannot attach the waistline first. For the hem, I did a running stitch of 2cm first and iron it up.

Because of the fact that this fabric cannot pin so I use removable tape to replace the pins.

I drape the TPU on the mannequin and try to make two sides looks asymmetric.

The drape doesn’t end at the waist line but all the way down to the skirt .It is very hard to join the bodice and skirt. I trim I leave 1 cm seam allowance for TPU material.

This is how it looks like after I attach them together. I tag the TPU at waist and using a belt to cover the stitch line.

For the zipper I can’t stitch it to close because the fabric is very hard to bend and will not zip up easily.

The last step is to join the facing and lining. I close the pleats and make the pattern smaller so it can fit my lining’s width. I use French seam to join the seam because it is separate at bottom.

Overall the outfit came out quite nice. I’m very satisfied with the color, length and the pleats. However the drape tends to curl back so I have to bending it back.I also made a belt for this look in order to cover up the stitch line. The glue I use is special made for jewelry and other material I got it online. The main adjustment I need to do is to make the band shorter.
