drafting of the dress

I started to draft the inner dress first, because of the material can’t sew a dart so I choose to use a dartless block. The important thing is that do not take in too much blew the hips. It might be difficult to walk.

As for the outer cape, I started to spread it open to make it flare first. Although My actual fabric has a wide width which is 147 cm, the waterfall pleats really consume a lots of fabric so I decide to cut a seam line inside the pleats.

The toile’s shape looks really fat and bloated. I decide to make the back simpler and reshape the front to make it smoother. We also decide to cut a slit at front so the outer layer looks more like a cape like outerwear.The hollow out at back looks very old fashioned so I decide keep the rectangle shape and just add a hooks and eyes.
