Major Project-Photoshoot

Before the photo shoot, I did research on makeup, hairstyle, style and pose. I want to create a “perfect doll girl” image. And at last for hair we decide to go for a more 50s bob hairstyle and make up will be a natural with pink lipstick and sunglasses as accessories. I was planning to use a post-surgery band as accessories however it may looks not like a fashion photo shoot.

Although it took long time to do the hair because the model’s hair is very long but eventually the face came out nice. It creates a very retro Hollywood glamor look but with modern twist. My original plan is to shoot my look3 which is the cape dress alone. However one of my models can only fit in one dress so I decide to change the plan and shoot the bustier gown alone.

The overall effect came out quite satisfied especially the two people‘s shoot. The blue set really works as a very completed set and the color and shining looks nice. The plastic fabric and beads also works nice, it add edginess and modern feeling to the whole look.

However I feel like the bustier dress is not grand enough. To solve the problem I’m thinking to put a crinoline inside or I cut it short as a tea length. Beading a band at hem may also help.

This photo shoot also change my direction of researching. My collection is called “makeover madness”, what if in the future we can be able to not only change our appearance to idealize look but also mind and brain. Beside this, I really like the retro vibe that the garment gives me now, it reminds me the famous novels called “The Stanford wives”.
